Despite the passage of the Civil Rights Act 50 years ago, higher education institutions still struggle to reduce racial and ethnic education gaps. The Equity Scorecard model of organizational change addresses this by shifting focus to institutional practices and structures to promote equity. It employs action research theory, encouraging practitioners to investigate their own institutions for racial disparities. Unlike traditional methods, it forms teams to analyze internal data on student outcomes by race and ethnicity. By fostering group learning, it empowers leaders and practitioners to develop sustainable practices to eliminate disparities. This approach can be applied at various scales, from individual courses to broader institutional issues, providing a blueprint for promoting equity in higher education.
