Debbie Hanson is an Associate Director at the USC Race and Equity Center. Prior to joining the center Debbie worked for USC’s Center for Urban Education for over a decade, collaborating with over three dozen colleges to engage in the Equity Scorecard™ process. She currently serves as the primary liaison for several institutions building practitioner capacity to use disaggregated data, self-assessment, and goal setting to achieve racial equity in student outcomes.
Debbie earned a master’s degree in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from USC and a master’s degree in English from St. Cloud State University, Minnesota. She is also finishing her Ph.D. in Higher Educaon at Florida State University.
Her professional interests include action research, strategies for race-conscious self-assessment and evaluation, and equity for minoritized racial/ethnic populations.
